Ravaged By Genital Herpes
Imagine having chicken pox. Weren’t you avoided like the plague during
the days, even weeks, that you were infected with the disease? And even when
you were given a positive bill of health by the doctor and fully recovered,
didn’t it take more time before your friends finally accepted that
you could not contaminate anyone anymore?
That’s exactly how someone ravaged by genital herpes feels, only
make the pain ten times worse. Even twenty!
I say “ravaged” because a number of people have been infected
by genital herpes through no fault of their own. This happens when their
partners have been dishonest or omitted certain truths prior to having intimacies.
Being ravaged by genital herpes may also happen, sadly enough, when you are
a victim of rape or sexual harassment. Much worse, a mere baby, unborn even,
can be ravaged by genital herpes if his mother already has the disease. Genital
herpes can also be transmitted to infants when they’re given kisses
by someone suffering from oral herpes.
A person’s life is ravaged by a number of ways when he is suffering
from genital herpes. The first and at times most burdensome problem to tackle
would be concealing your condition from friends and loved ones. No one, I
believe, can feel proud that he has genital herpes and now has the unwanted
power of transmitting the said disease to others. That’s why people
go to great lengths to cover the truth and this can sometimes cause them
to be very tense and irritable and generally getting the opposite of what
they want: the recipient of unwanted attention.
Secondly, a person’s life is emotionally ravaged when he has genital
herpes. Isn’t it hard for someone to accept that they have AIDS because
it will ultimately lead to your death? It’s almost the same thing
with genital herpes because even if there are treatments and relief medicines
available in the market, none of them can truly destroy the virus inside
you. Genital herpes also has a rather dampening effect on your relationships
with other people. You would find it quite hard to find someone who truly
accepts your condition.
Thirdly, a person’s life is also physically ravaged when he’s
experiencing the pain-inducing symptoms of genital herpes. The level of
pain varies for each individual but in serious cases, the pain can become
extremely
intolerable that the person has to result to depending on intravenous medicine.
This is not, however, an ideal solution because intravenous medicine may
have harmful side effects.
