Preventing Herpes

Genital herpes is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the world. As more and more cultures are becoming open to different sexual partners and unsafe sexual practice, the more chance that this disease will spread. People who say that they don’t care that much about having herpes will suddenly care after having contacted the disease. They’ll be able to see that safe sex practice is really important to prevent such a scary predicament.

When you’ll be having herpes, you’ll have blisters around your penis or vulva. As they erupt they will produce cold sores that will take 3 weeks to heal. These will be generally painful, but as the more often you’ll be having herpes, they become less painful (maybe because you get used to it) and also heal faster.

What’s scarier is that the cure for genital herpes has not been found. Unlike the current crazy flu-trend of the bird flu where scientists are scrambling mad to cure it, the same can not be said for Herpes. There may be efforts to find a cure for herpes but they’re not rushing into it. They may be saying that these horny bastards deserve it anyway.

However there are some medication that can help infected person to relive the symptoms, shorten the length of the outbreak and prevent it form recurring. Antibiotics are not considered to be very useful in helping you out with herpes.

If you are lucky the recurring outbreak can only appear a few times in your lifetime. It seems to be unlucky when you’ll be having outbreaks 4-6 times a year. As sated above, the more the outbreaks return the less painful they become end the less painful the faster they heal.

If one can not try to cure herpes, it is best if one can just prevent it from happening to him or her. Here are some ways on preventing Herpes.

Talk with your partner about STD. Explain the risk that the both of you may be exposed to. Even though you will sound like a professor or a paranoid person, its best to know more about your partner. Because it is quite possible that one can be infected with herpes without seeing the symptoms.

Don’t be an evil person by spreading your virus with other people. If you have herpes or being treated with the disease, don’t have sexual intercourse.

Don’t be greedy. Try only having one sexual partner at a time. The more sexual partners you have, the more chance you’ll be exposed to herpes.

Always remember to use condoms. If condoms can not be found, be innovative by crafting any plastic to your penis using it for protection. Using condoms can help especially with a new partner.

To be able to prevent Herpes from you, it is best to try to practice the tips above. Trying abstinence will also help out a lot.
