Herpes - General Information

Genital herpes is not the same as Genital Hairpiece. Instead of having a piece of wig or hair on your genitals all you’ll be having is a virus called the HSV. HSV is shortened term for Herpes Simplex Virus which can be contacted via sexual contact with a person who has been infected.

This virus is the same as the virus that causes us cold sores. It will be hard to avoid since sometimes the symptoms can not be seen. So always try to practice safe sex by using protective measures since this is the most common sexually transmitted disease. Note to kids, Herpes not Cooties are the most common and a dangerous virus as well.

The symptom of genital herpes is no joke. As anyone who has had one will tell you that it is like a scene from a horror movie. It will start with swelling itchy blisters on the penis or the vulva and eventually the blisters will erupt. Once the sores have erupted shallow sores will emerge and will take 3 weeks to heal.

Sometimes a primary outbreak is also included with headaches, fever, muscle aches, and painful urination. The symptoms do not appear sometimes and sometimes can just be very mild that the person, who has it, does not realize that he or she has been infected already. The usual length of time before the primary outbreak is 2-14 days.

After the primary outbreak the virus becomes inactive in the area where the sores appeared. To some people, the outbreak will recur especially when one is stressed, ill, a new sex partner, or have menstruation. People who have been experiencing herpes repeatedly have some bright news though, the more often it appears, and the less painful it becomes and heals faster too. However people with diseases such as HIV may have more severe symptoms.

If you think you have genital herpes, try thinking if you have done the following things into your sex life lately. Some of the sexual activity is considered as high risk causes for herpes. If you have been having multiple sex partners or your sex partner has been having multiple partners then both of you are at risk. Not using protection such as condoms, having an impaired immune system, and being sexually active before the age of 18. The last risk factor is the hardest thing to avoid. It is hard to avoid being a woman as women are more adverse to herpes that can have much worst effects a woman.

You better practice safe sex and have some measures for safety. As to prevent the person you’d want to make love be freaked out with your herpes. In fact, a hairpiece on your genital may be better off than the herpes that you might also infect her with.
