The First Outbreak

Some people say that when experiencing something for the 1st time it is very special. It is a moment to treasure and cherish forever. Memories like getting married, (if you do only get married once), or the first words that your kid says (unless the kid is looking at the gardener and says dad to him) are very special moments. However if the memories tend to be sour, like those that are enclosed in the parenthesis. Those memories will be like memories of having your first outbreak of genital herpes.

The first outbreak of genital herpes is so much worse than the recurring ones. Consider the first outbreak as the moment where herpes is welcomed to your world. It’s just like getting welcome din a fraternity, its painful but you’ll get used to it. The first outbreak will always be associated with the general symptoms aside from rash. Women become more at risk, especially if it is internal herpes, as there is no way to find out if they are infected.

Before genital herpes was only caused by the type 2 virus, but a new strain of herpes type 1 is also causing herpes. The length of the outbreak is usually between 2 days to 3 weeks.

On the first outbreak, the rash is the blisters that cluster on a red base. Sometimes herpes will cause ulcerations in some areas (vagina) instead of blisters. The first appearance e of the outbreak on women appears on vulva, vagina, cervix, anus, buttocks, urethra or thighs. The outbreak on a man will appear on the tip of the penis or the shaft but rarely on the base. For men who have sexual intercourse with other men, there is a chance to have an outbreak in the anus. Men are luckier as the blisters they’ll be having will be around 6 to 10 only. These blisters are painful as they contain viral particles that are contagious as well.

Some other symptoms of herpes include high fever up to 102 degrees, headaches, muscle pains, swollen lymph odes and fatigue.

For some unknown reason women tend to be more infected with the HSV2 virus. Women will also have a more painful experience. If the women get infected internally in the cervix or vagina, she may develop pelvic pain, burning feeling when she urinates and vaginal discharge. Some women may experience more blister or even ulcers on the 2nd week of the first outbreak.

The infection will last 2-3 weeks but the skin pain will lasts for 4-6 weeks. Then the blisters fall off when dry and when this happens, it is no longer contagious anymore.

If you have recurring herpes, just consider it a situation where your genitals become werewolves on certain periods of time. As your genitals may become dangerous during this time, so you should try to put assign on your back. That says warning “herpes” will emerge during this time. If you don’t want that option, practicing safe sex will be better to prevent you from contacting the disease.
